Welcome to my website!

My name is Emma Habekost Jakobsen, and I am an illustrator and children’s book author from Denmark.

I have a Masters degree in English and Scandinavian Language and Literature, which pairs well with my illustration work. I have also completed several art courses, like a course in classical drawing from The Drawing Academy in Viborg in 2018 and a course in portfolio foundation from the same school in 2025. In my illustration practice I value learning and growing both by self practice and by taking courses such as these continuously.

I get excited by experimentning with new styles, color schemes, and motifs, and I love challenging myself in order to keep finding new and interesting ways to create a new art piece.

I am inspired by: novels, Hayao Miyazaki, people I see, nature documentaries, Tove Jansson and music.
